    • Hello, thank you for reaching out!

It sounds like your Frameo isn’t recognizing the backup card. Don’t worry—this is a fairly common situation in Frameo Troubleshooting. You may need to check a couple of things to get it working:

      1. Format the card: Make sure the SD card is formatted to FAT32 or exFAT. Other formats may not be supported.
      2. Check size limit: Frameo usually works best with cards up to 32GB. Larger cards can sometimes cause recognition issues.
      3. Insert properly: Remove and reinsert the card carefully to ensure it’s fully seated.
      4. Try another card: If possible, test with a different SD card to confirm whether the issue is with the card or the frame.

If you’ve already tried these steps and it still doesn’t work, the problem may be with the frame’s card reader itself. In that case, contacting Frameo support could be helpful.

Let me know if this helps or if you’d like me to walk you through formatting the card step by step!

    • Hi there, thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear your Frameo went dark — that can be frustrating. Let’s go through a few quick Frameo troubleshooting steps you can try:

      1. Power check: Unplug the device, wait at least 2 minutes, and plug it back into a working outlet.
      2. Test adapter & cable: Make sure the power adapter and cable are not damaged. If possible, try another compatible adapter.
      3. Screen reset: Hold the power button (if available) for 10–15 seconds to force a restart.
      4. Factory reset: If the screen comes back but acts glitchy, go into Settings → Backup & Reset to restore defaults.

If it still won’t power on after these steps, the issue may be hardware-related, and you may need to contact Frameo support for repair or replacement.

      • Check your Wi-Fi router: Make sure it’s turned on and functioning correctly.
      • Move the frame closer: Sometimes signal strength is an issue, so try moving your Y5 closer to your Wi-Fi router.
      • Restart and reconnect: Turn off your Y5, wait a moment, then turn it back on and try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.
      • Update the Frameo app: An outdated app can sometimes cause connection problems, so ensure your app is the latest version.

    • It sounds like your Frameo frame is getting stuck on the boot screen, which can definitely be a puzzling issue. You could try a few steps to get it working again:

      • Give your Frameo frame a full restart. Unplug it from the power outlet, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This often resolves minor glitches.
      • Check that your Frameo app on your smartphone is updated to the latest version. Sometimes app updates resolve frame connectivity or display issues.
      • Also, confirm that your frame’s software is updated. Keeping your device updated is crucial for a smooth experience.
      • After restarting, make sure the frame has a strong, stable Wi-Fi connection. Connectivity problems can sometimes prevent it from fully starting up or updating.

    • It sounds frustrating when technology doesn’t quite line up. An iPhone 7 can update to iOS 15 at most, so if the current Frameo app requires a newer iOS version, that would definitely cause a compatibility issue.

Here are a few things that might help:

      • First, double-check the Frameo app’s minimum iOS requirements on its App Store page. Sometimes, older devices can still download the last compatible version of an app that works with their operating system.
      • If you have access to a different smartphone or tablet that runs a newer iOS or Android version, you might be able to use that device to manage your Frameo frame instead. The frame itself doesn’t typically care which device sends the photos, as long as it’s coming from a compatible app.
      • Reaching out directly to Frameo support could also provide some specific guidance for your situation, as they might have alternative solutions or suggestions for users with older devices.

Hopefully, one of these options gets your Frameo frame refreshing with new memories soon!

  1. I have a new frame… have been uploading photos, all from thumb drive… over 6000 photos so far with plenty of storage space still left on my 64 GB frame. The problem I’m having is, the pictures all seem to upload fine, and ALL appear clearly as thumbnails when I go to “manage photos”… but when frame displays photos in slideshow, nearly 1/3 of my photos appear blank – full black screen. I’m a new customer and am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied. I have unplugged and rebooted several times and nothing has solved this problem. The only formats I have uploaded are jpeg + png. Even files under 1MG are not displaying! I would hate to have to do a factory reset, as I have diligently uploaded over 6000 photos and spent easily over 20 hours doing this. Please help.

    • It sounds incredibly frustrating to have invested so much time uploading your cherished memories only to encounter this issue with your new frame. We want to help you get this sorted without losing your progress.

A crucial first step for display issues, even with new devices, is to ensure the frame’s software is fully up to date. Sometimes, updates include important fixes for rendering various image formats. You can usually check for and install updates in your frame’s settings menu, often found under ‘About’ or ‘System’.

Since the thumbnails appear correctly but the full images don’t, it points to a rendering problem during the slideshow. If you can, try identifying a few specific photos that consistently show as blank screens. Could you then try uploading just one or two of these specific images again, perhaps directly from your smartphone via the Frameo app? This helps determine if the issue is with the original files or how they were processed during the initial thumb drive upload.

You might also want to check the resolution of a couple of these problematic images on a computer. While JPEG and PNG are fully supported, extremely high-resolution files, even if they’re under 1MB, can sometimes cause rendering hiccups on certain hardware during slideshow playback.

Considering the significant effort you’ve put into uploading your photos, we want to explore all other options before suggesting a factory reset. Please try these steps, and we’ll work with you to find a solution.

  2. My Frameo is randomly HIDING pictures. Every 3-4 days, I need to UNHIDE 40-50 pictures. At approximately 10 days, ALL photos are hidden and I need to manually UNHIDE every photo. I have about 400 photos. What could be causing this?

    Reply
    • That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially needing to unhide so many photos repeatedly! This specific behavior of photos being randomly hidden and then all photos disappearing after a longer period suggests a few possible causes:

      • Outdated Software: The most common culprit for unusual behavior is outdated software. Please ensure both your Frameo app on your smartphone and the Frameo digital photo frame itself are running the absolute latest versions. Software updates often include bug fixes that can resolve these kinds of glitches.
      • App Settings Review: Carefully go through all the settings within your Frameo app on your phone. Look for any options related to photo management, archiving, auto-deletion schedules, or visibility preferences that might be inadvertently enabled or configured in a way that causes photos to be hidden after a certain time or condition. Sometimes a setting isn’t immediately obvious.
      • Frameo Frame’s Internal Data: It’s possible there’s an issue with the frame’s internal database or cache that manages the display status of your photos. If updates don’t fix it, sometimes refreshing the connection by restarting the frame or even temporarily disconnecting it from Wi-Fi and reconnecting can help reset some of these internal processes.
      • Connectivity Issues: While less directly tied to hiding photos, an inconsistent or weak Wi-Fi connection could lead to syncing problems where the frame isn’t properly retaining or updating the visibility status for your pictures as intended by the app. Ensure your frame has a strong, stable internet connection.

Starting with checking for updates on both your app and the frame, then meticulously reviewing your app settings, would be the best first steps.
